Donald Joseph “Joe” Tipton, 65, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at his home in Amory. Born in Aberdeen on June 19, 1959, he was a son to William and Mildred Bridges Tipton. He attended school at Snowden High School in Memphis, TN. Before becoming disabled, he worked in construction as a brick mason. In addition, he served in the Mississippi Army National Guard as an engineer. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and the outdoors. He was a huge fan of the Miami Dolphins and the Tennessee Volunteers. He loved being with his family especially his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Ministers Tim Wilson and Evan Bolen officiating. Burial will be in the Jones Cemetery.
He is survived by three daughters, Cassandra Hosey (Joseph), Laurel, MS, Christina Tipton (Justin Reed), Amory, and Cassie Taylor (Eric), Amory; three brothers, Mark Tipton, Hamilton, Rickey Tipton, Ripley, and Tony Tipton, TX; sisters, Angela Fiebig (Jerry), Greenwood Springs; grandchildren, Will Moore, Emory Moore, Joseph Smith, Aaliyah Graham, Brooklyn Tipton, Kailyn Taylor, and Emmylou Taylor; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Randy Tipton; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Tipton.
Pallbearers will be Stone Tipton, Mark Tipton, Brindle Dunn, Joe West, Will Moore, Jim Tipton, and Brandon Tipton.
Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
