Reverend Donald Clem went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2023, at his home in Toney, Alabama.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Billie Rose Clem; his daughters, Donna Rigsby (Tom) of Jefferson, GA, and Rhonda Walker (Shea) of Toney, AL; five grandchildren, Heather Stechly (Danny) of Lawrenceville, GA, Hannah Johnston (Austin) of Bethlehem, GA, and Benjamin Rigsby (Emily) of Commerce, GA; Cheyenne Walker, and Makayla Walker; and two great grandchildren, Oakley Stechly and Rhett Stechly.
His surviving siblings are Vernon Clem, of Tullahoma, TN, and Virginia Mae Lynch, of Fayetteville, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Lilly Clem and five bothers and three sisters.
Donald Clem served in the United State Army from 1960 through 1962. Reverend Clem was a longtime pastor in the North Alabama area serving as senior pastor for several churches. He also worked in the construction industry for many years, overseeing many industrial and commercial building projects. Reverend Clem had evangelized and pastored since 1969. He founded the Pettusville Pentecostal Church in 1981. Using his construction and contracting skills he oversaw the construction of Faith Tabernacle, Elkmont, Alabama in 1983 and New Life Worship Center in 2010. He retired as a senior pastor after over 35 years of service. His first love was the Lord Jesus Christ and countless lost souls were led to Christ through his ministry. Known as Brother Donald to church members and Papa to his grandkids, he will be dearly missed by the many lives he touched and changed.
Services will be held on Monday, January 9th, 2023, at 2:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Monday from 12:00- 1:45pm at the funeral home. The interment will be at Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL following the service.
