  Dolores S. Graning Profile PhotoDolores S. (Dee) Graning passed away peacefully on the morning of October 13, 2025.

Dolores was born as the fourth child of twelve children on a farm in St. Rose, IL. She attended the local parish grade school in St. Rose, high school at St Paul High School in Highland, IL and LeClere College in Belleville, IL.

During her career Dee transferred from Highland, IL to Humboldt, TN with Alton Box Board Company (now Smurfit Westrock) in 1960 to setup the office and production procedures for the new facility. She later worked for other manufacturing locations in Humboldt and Jackson as a purchasing agent and/or production planner. She even had few years in the legal field with Dwight Hawks Law Firm in Humboldt.

A lifelong devout Catholic, Dee was very involved in various volunteer groups for Sacred Heart Church and St. Mary’s Catholic Church and School, especially flower arrangements for weekend Mass. Later in life she also became quite involved with The Governor’s Luncheon for The West TN Strawberry Festival.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents Anton and Frances Schrage and nine of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son Rob Graning along with sisters Ruth Korte and Florence (David) Luechtefeld.
