Visitation will be Friday, July 12, 2024 from 12:00 P M until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home – South. Bro. Kenneth Rencher and Bro. Mickey Trammel will officiate the service. Mrs. Mitchell passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. She was born on November 19, 1928 to Edgar Rencher and Effie Ballard Rencher. She graduated from Corinth High School in 1947. Dimple enjoyed a long, full life. She worked at VJ Elmore’s, a five and dime store in Corinth, but is most remembered for her time at Plaza Dry Cleaners. She worked in the family business for over 50 years. She enjoyed canning food with her sisters, quilting and reading. When she was able, she did her own yardwork. Of all the things she enjoyed, the one she enjoyed most was cooking for family and friends. She was happiest when her house was full, and it was every Sunday. For as long as she was able, she cooked lunch for her entire family after church. Dimple also hosted the family Christmas Eve dinner at her house for almost 50 years. The memories of those festive celebrations will live on with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dimple was a longtime member of Tate (Street) Baptist Church, and enjoyed traveling with the senior adult group, the ABC’s. In her later years, church was something she missed dearly. Although she was unable to attend, her faith remained. One of the last statements she made was, “The Lord will take care of me.” We know the Lord did take care of her, and we take comfort in knowing she is with Jesus today. Dimple is survived by her sons, Donnie Mitchell (Vickie) and Jay Mitchell (Shelia), grandchildren, Kevin Mitchell (Marsha), Matt Mitchell (Rachel) and Ben Mitchell, great grandchildren, Luke Mitchell, Carly Jane Mitchell, Henry Mitchell and Milo Mitchell; brothers, William “Bill” Rencher (Carol), Kenneth Rencher and Donald Rencher (Carolyn); her sisters, Oral Gardner, Ora Winters and Genelle McDoniel; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Mitchell; her father, Ed Rencher; her mother, Effie Ballard Rencher; her sisters, Wilma Fulghum (Robert), Juanita Davis (Leslie) and Eunice Wallace (James); her brothers-in-law, Ralph McDoniel, Haryse Gardner and Troy Winters. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Tate Baptist Church (1201 North Harper Road, Corinth, MS 38834) or Oasis Medical Center (2421 Proper Street, Corinth, MS 38834). Pallbearers will be Ben Mitchell, Luke Mitchell, Henry Mitchell and Milo Mitchell. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Dimple Mitchell.
