Mr. Dewon Simpson of Arab, Alabama; went to be with the Lord on the early hours of Sunday – October 25, 2020 at the age of 80 years.
Mr. Simpson was born in Clay County, Arkansas on July 28, 1940 to the late R.A. Simpson and Edith Davis Simpson. Mr. Simpson was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He was strong in his faith and loved his Lord and Savior with all his heart. Dewon was most proud of his 20+ year career in the U.S. Army. After retiring from Army with the rank of Sergeant Major, he worked part time for Universal Studios and Cypress Gardens in Fla before relocating to Alabama in September 1999. Mr. Simpson enjoyed buying and selling cars, He was a former member of The Knights of Columbus, served as an usher at his church before his illness. He also worked with the St. Vincent dePaul Society.
Mr. Simpson was a member of the St. Williams Catholic Church in Guntersville, Alabama.
Mr. Dewon will be forever remembered by his beloved wife of 40 years, Billie Ellen Connelly-Simpson; sister Dian Foltz (John), brothers, Doyle Simpson (Carol) and Darrell Simpson; sons, Timothy Simpson and Travis Simpson (Anita);, Daniel Johnson and Cyndi Johnson Howard and his 5 grandsons and 2 granddaughters.
