Denver Owens, age 67, of Summertown, TN passed away Monday, October 13, 2014 at V.A. Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was a native of Portsmouth, VA, and a retired civilian contractor for the U.S. Navy. He was a member of DAV, Mimosa Lodge, Eastern Star, Al Menah Shriner, and an Eagle Scout. Mr. Owens served his country honorably in the U.S. Marines where he received a Bronze and Silver Star, three Purple Hearts, and a Navy Cross.
He was preceded in death by his father, Olon James Owens; and one brother, Richard Owens.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 15, 2014 with Mickey Brackin officiating. Interment will follow at John Lay Cemetery in Ethridge, TN.
