Dennison Tanner Bretherick, of Killen, AL, a man whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone he met, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024 at the age of 46. Visitation will be Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 12-2 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with a service to follow in the chapel at 2 p.m. Sam Wallace will be officiating.

Dennison was a friend to all and a stranger to none. His genuine spirit, unwavering generosity, and infectious smile made him beloved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, laughter, and countless memories that will be cherished by his beautiful bride and unwavering tribe of family, and friends who will continue to honor his memory by living their lives with the same kindness, humor, and generosity he exemplified every day.

Dennison was a 3rd generation Iron Worker with the Local 477 out of Sheffield, AL. He was a member of Grassy Baptist Church of Lexington. He dedicated his life to helping others, always putting their needs before his own. His ability to connect with people from all walks of life was unparalleled, making every person he encountered feel valued and understood.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Bretherick; grandparents, Gaynell and Alma Bretherick, Edward and Eddie Killen.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Bacon Bretherick; daughters, Katlin Bretherick England (Tyler), Jaden Bretherick, and Addison Bacon; mother, Nancy Bryant; step mother, Margaret Bretherick; step sisters, Brenda Broadfoot (Barry) and Cindy Hood (Late husband, Lance); special aunt, Aunt Kay Burks; Aunt Kay Killen; Aunt Betty Ferrell (Lloyd); grandchildren, Ali England and A.J. England; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; two special women who are the mother of his children, April Bretherick and Candace Bretherick.

Pallbearers will be Jeb Miles, Thomas Berryhill “Otis”, Brent Tays, Tyler England, Brian Inman, Daniel Dunn, and Collin Burks. Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Easterly, Kevin Mitchell, and Billy Cole.

Special thanks to the nursing staff at NAMC, most especially, Missy Swader, Clear View Cancer Institute, and Compassus Hospice.
