Rev. Dennis Lee Ivy

Rev. Dennis Lee Ivy, age 76, of Tanner, Alabama, passed from this life on June 11, 2025. Born on January 22, 1949, in Florence, he lived a life of unwavering faith, compassion, and service to others.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Ivy; and his beloved children: Jonathan Lee Ivy (Leslie), Rebecca Gail McCurry (Jeremy), Rachel Elizabeth Boyle (Mike), David Homer Bishop, and Diane Sistrunk.
Rev. Ivy leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren: Hannah Derise (Jordan), Jonathan Bishop (Alexis), Peyton Weeks (Addison), Heather Colburn (Taylor), Kadence Ford (Blaine), Emily McCurry, Paislee Ivy, and Mirakel Sistrunk; as well as six cherished great-grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his loving sisters, Patricia Russell (Jack), Joan Ivy and Mona Ivy and his brother Mark Ivy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas “Ellis” and Dorothy “Blanche” Ivy; his brother, Gary Ivy (Donna); his sister, Linda Trousdale; and his sons, Dennis “Denny” Lee Ivy Jr and Timothy Sistrunk.
Rev. Dennis Ivy will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a true man of God. A shepherd to many and a source of strength, wisdom, and encouragement, his legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched and in the family he loved so deeply.
Funeral services for Rev. Ivy will be Saturday, June 14th, 2025, at 2:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Crosswhite, Kenny Rogers, Ronnie Sparks, and Lavanul Sherrill officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00-1:45pm. Burial will be at Nebo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jordan Derise, Jonathan Bishop, Addison Weeks, Taylor Colburn, Blaine Ford, Jason Russell, Jamie Bogue, and Greg Russell.
