DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department concluded an investigation of a rape case that took place on February 26, 2015 in the city limits of Decatur. This is how the Decatur Police describe their investigation and arrest of one suspect in the case:
“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On February 26, 2015 a report was filed with the Decatur Police Department that Gary Watkins raped a female juvenile in the city limits of Decatur, AL.
A joint investigation was conducted by the Decatur Police Departments Violent Crimes Unit, Morgan County DHR, and the Morgan County Child Advocacy Center about the allegations.
On March 12, 2015 Gary was located at his residence at 1211 24th Ave SW Decatur, AL. He was transported to the Decatur Police Department. Gary was then placed under arrest for Rape 1st Degree, a class A felony. Gary was escorted to the Decatur City Jail where he was charged and booked in for Rape 1st Degree.
Gary’s bond has not been set and he will be held at the city jail.”
