Deborah Sue Henson Baker, age 64, Double Springs, AL. stepped into the presence of the Lord on October 5, 2022. She was a beloved Wife, Mother and Nonna to her four grandblessings. She was a faithful member, Sunday School teacher and organist at New Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church. She retired from the Winston County School District after 23 years. She taught 7th and 8th grade English at Double Springs Middle School. After graduating with a Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies from the University of Alabama, she became the Media Specialist and yearbook sponsor at Winston County High School.

The visitation will be Saturday October 8, 2022 from 10:00AM – 12:00NOON at New Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Nauvoo, AL. Funeral at 12:00NOON at the church, with Donny Dodd and Chris Pschirer officiating. Burial to follow in New Oak Grove Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Lowell Baker. She was the Mother to B.J. Baker, Susie Pharr (Matthew) and Candi Cagle (Dustin). She was Nonna to her four grandblessings, Maddie Grace Cagle, John Carson Pharr, Hudson Blake Cagle and Jacy Cate Pharr.

She had a special mother and Granny to her children, Jo Ann Welch. She is survived by her brother, Donald Henson, brother-in-laws, Dale Holt (Carol) and Ray Baker (Linda). She had a sister-in-law that went wherever she did, Kay Woods (Ricky). She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great -nephews and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Don and Sue Henson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lacy and Kathleen Baker; sister, Rejeana Winsted; brother-in-law, Robert Baker.

Pallbearers, Ricky Woods, Chad Woods, Trent Williams, Barry Williams, Mike Baker, Mark Baker, Craig Baker, Jeremy Raburn and Dale Holt.
