Funeral for Deborah Kay “Aunt Kay” Ricks Kent, 35, of Hartselle will be Saturday, November 29, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Family Baptist Church with Ben Sides officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Dancy’s Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Kent died Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born November 27, 1978, in Morgan County to Richard E. Ricks Sr. and Elizabeth Carolyn Peden Sims. She was a member of Rock Spring Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing and bingo. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Grady Peden and Virginia Borden Peden, Charles E. Ricks Sr. and Benny Clemons.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd E. Kent; one son, Joshua Lee Ricks; stepmother, Ruby Ann Ricks; stepfather, Terry Lee White; two brothers, Richard E. Ricks Jr. (Shannon) and James Dale Ricks; one sister, Crystal Ricks Terry and husband, Chris Terry Sr.; and stepsister, Miranda Atchley.
Pallbearers will be Lloyd Kent, Chris Terry Sr., David Kent Jr., JJ Sanford, Chris Simmons, Terry White, Christopher Terry Jr., Austin Terry, Spencer Brown and Hunter Brown.
