Debbie Lynne Russell, 62, born December 8, 1955, in Morgan County, Alabama, to J.E. and Nila Henson Russell.
Debbie is predeceased by her parents, grandparents, beloved uncles, aunts and cousins.
Surviving are brothers, Keith Russell (Linda), Kelvin Russell and Benny Russell (Angie); and one sister, Donna Russell Turner (Benny).
Debbie was a proud graduate of West Morgan High School class of 1974 and continued a life of learning, being a voracious reader and purveyor of everything educational. You did not want to be on the opposite team with Trivial Pursuit or Jeopardy as the venue. She was a walking encylcopedia of True Crime. Early vocation as a barber showcased her people skills. Debbie is also loved and remembered as the favorite babysitter by numerous nephews and nieces as well as grandnephews and grandnieces.
The family is most proud of how brave and courageous Debbie was in choosing how to manage her last days, which showed her faith in Christ and desire to make those decisions on her own. Special thanks to all emergency services, hospitals, nurses, physicians, and dialysis clinics and the wonderful staff at National Health Care for their excellent response and care.
Interment and graveside service at Russell Cemetery on George W. Russell Road will be announced on social media at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Debbie and family request that all memorials be made to West Morgan Elementary School and memo to J.E. and Nila Russell Scholarship Fund. This fund provides clothing, meals and support for school activities benefitting children that are less fortunate than others.
