David W. Garrett “MR.FIXIT” passed away peacefully on Friday, April 3, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.
David was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He could fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be remembered for his helpful nature, intelligence, wit, and his ability to make those around him laugh.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Garrett; his mother, Peggy Stewart Garvin; his sister, Kathy Tapscott; and his sister-in-law, Susan Garrett.
He is survived by his brothers, Mike Garrett and Kim Garrett (Peggy); his children, Wesley Garrett (Aphrodite), Hadley Davis (Jeremy), and Charley Stanfield (Jay); Jesse McWhorter, whom he loved as a son; and his granddaughters, Avery Stanfield, Amina Garrett, and Amaya Garrett.
Arrangements:
A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 PM at The Beach Pavilion at Guntersville State Park, Saturday April 11th. There will be food, and we will spend time together sharing memories and honoring Dad.
