David Stanley Miller, 71 of Double Springs entered into rest on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Lakeland Community Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born April 23, 1941 in Franklin County, Alabama to Christopher Joseph Miller and Ida Frances Coleman Miller. Mr. Miller was a member of Beulah Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Pebble Junior High School and then attended Jasper Welding Vocational Center. David loved making bird houses and worked most of his life building furniture.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 6-9pm at Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in Haleyville, where services will be held Friday, October 19, 2012 at 2pm. Burial will follow in Littleville Cemetery. Brother Frank Chaney and Brother Danny Paige will be officiating.
David is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Peggy Fowler Miller; son, Jeff (Penny) Miller; brothers, Drexel (Mary Ann) Miller, Athan Miller, Fletcher Miller; David was known as “Paw Paw David” to 3 grandchildren, Chris Miller, Stanley Miller, Patrick Miller; he was also known as “Paw Paw David” to 6 great grandchildren, Ethan Miller, Cadence Miller, Krislynn Miller, Anna Miller, Kane Adams, and Alec Sides.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher J and Ida Miller; sisters, Martha Timmons, Devona Treece-Miller, Geraldine Oliver; brothers, Cecil Miller and Joe Miller; nephew but more like a brother, Johnny Oliver.
