David Ross Wickliffe 74 of Ardmore, TN. passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving wife, Melody and their two dogs. He was born on January 7, 1952 in Greensville, SC. The youngest son of Ed Wickliffe a WWII Veteran and Edna Mae Henderson Wickliffe. He graduated from Wade Hampton High School (Greensville), where he played on the football and baseball teams. He attended college at Spartan Methodist College for a short time before becoming somewhat of an “Entrepreneur” in the Greenville area. He made his way to Alabama in the late 80’s, managing several Pizza Hut locations, settling on the TN side of Ardmore in 2004. He and his brother, John, were avid college football fans. He lived for the football season, especially following his favorite, Alabama Crimson Tide (Roll Tide!) He enjoyed working outdoors and he loved the ocean! He is preceded in death by both his parents and his brother, John Wickliffe. a Vietnam Veteran. David is survived by his wife & partner of 44 years, Melody Sue Weidner Wickliffe and sister Deborah VerBuk, his stepchildren, Amber. Camden and Jason, his beloved niece Christie Bessinger (the two of them were joined at the hip for most of her childhood) his great niece Michaela, great nephew Rivers He also had 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and close friends Bert & Jenny Myrick (deceased). David loved his family and friends, showing his love through acts of kindness, fierce protectiveness and willingness to go “the extra mile”. He will be missed by all that knew him!
There will be a small service in this area followed by a Gathering of Family & Friends in Greensville, SC.
