David Paul Guess, 61, of Decatur died December 19, 2013, at his residence. Funeral service will be today at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Donald Duggar officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation was Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Guess was born February 11, 1952, in Athens to Clyde and Louella Guess. He was retired from Morgan County Bus Shop and served as Santa Claus at the Decatur Mall for many years. He was an avid Alabama Football fan. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Debbie Stoner.
He is survived by his wife Helen of 22 years; sons, Keith Waugh, Chad Waugh (Stacey), Noah Earls (Amy); daughters, Amy Moore (Byron), Amanda Kellum (Steve), Sarah Mackey (Dan); brother, Roger Guess (Karen); sisters, Linda Whitehead (Ira), Janice Owens; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Keith Waugh, Chad Waugh, Noah Earls, Steve Kellum, Dan Mackey and Byron Moore.
