David Othal Ackerman, 77, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Community/Holland Cemetery with Pastor Tommy James officiating.
David was a member of Oakgrove Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, David Gilbert Ackerman and Mary Clyde Sylvester; and son, David Ackerman Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Shelby Arlene Ackerman; son, Jeff Ackerman; daughter, Allison Ackerman; stepsons, Wayne White and Gary White; brother, Mike Sylvester; sisters, Amanda Smith and Ronda McIndale; Aunt Carolyn Blankenship; and nine grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Community/Holland Cemetery Fund.
