David Lamar Fox, age 69, of Russellville, passed away on March 18, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 3, 1956, to M.C. and Edna Fox. David was a motorcycle enthusiast who never met a stranger. He was known for giving back to his community and for always doing the right thing. He worked as a mechanic for many years and took pride in his work. Above all, he loved his wife and family and greatly enjoyed spending time with them. He will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Visitation will be Monday March 23, 2026 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM where the service will be held at 2:00 PM at Akins Funeral Home in Russellville, Alabama. Officiating services will be Brent Palmer. Pallbearers will be Trey Fox, Manley Wilson, Jimmy Foster, John Burchum, Dustin Harget, Keith Aycock. Honorary pallbearers will be Tracey Tice and Donnie Hines. David is survived, by his wife, Rita Fox; sons, Michael (Ashley) Fox, David Lee (Brittany) Fox; grandchildren, Trey Fox, Lydia Fox; brothers, Charles Fox; niece, Jennifer (Tracey) Tice; sisters-in-laws, Regina Cummings, Andrea Dozard. He is proceeded in death by his parents, MC and Edna Fox; brother, Don Fox. The family would like to extend a special thanks to David’s nurse Carmen Fretwell.
