David Frederick Everly, 56, passed away on March 27, 2026, in Huntsville, AL.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, with the service immediately following in the chapel.
David spent the majority of his life living in Columbia, Maryland, Knoxville, Tennessee, and Huntsville, Alabama. He attended Oakland Mills High School in Columbia, Maryland, graduating in 1987 while being named to the school’s Sports Hall of Fame for football, basketball and his true love-BASEBALL.
While in high school, David played for Harbor Federal baseball team in 1984 where they won the National Amateur Baseball Federation National Championship. Playing on that team set him up to be recruited by the University of Michigan where David played as a Shortstop all four years he attended. While there, he had the opportunity to compete with his team making it to the NCAA regionals. He also played for the Cape Cod Baseball League as a Shortstop and Third Baseman. Following college, David played minor league baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers organization on both the Helena Brewers and Beloit Brewers teams as a Shortstop and Third Baseman.
Although his final professional role was working for Pinnacle Solutions/Akima, David worked 30+ years in various EVM/Project Controls Manager roles supporting DOD, DOE, NASA and Air Force contracts. His career was very important to him and he genuinely loved the work he did and had great respect for the colleagues that he developed relationships with over the years.
David took tremendous pride in the success of his children who have grown to be accomplished young men and who continue to share many of his passions. David was so good-natured and always quick with a joke, would strike up a conversation with anybody he came in contact with and always dedicated every effort he made to his family. He was loved so much by so many. David was such a good man.
David is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sarah Everly; his sons, Tristan and Ryan; his parents Jane and Fred Everly; and sister, Tara Everly.
