David Clinton King – Obituary

David Clinton King, age 95, of Nauvoo, went home to be his Lord on Saturday, March 11, 2017 surrounded by his family.  He was a lifetime member of Liberty Grove Baptist Church, serving as deacon for 67 years and caretaker of the cemetery for 27 years.  David was a World War II Army Veteran, Capenter/Builder and Auburn fan, but most important to him was serving  the Lord.

He leaves behind his Loving Wife of 69 years-Genell Hill King; Sons-Michael King, Eddie King (Kelley), Joey King (Kelley); Grandchildren-Tracy King, Chris King, Cameron King, Brandon King, Michelle King, Lauren King, Matthew Dill and Hunter Dill; 3 Great Grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his Father-Doc King; Mother-Docie Romine King; Son-Bobby King; Brothers-Cecil King and Herman King; Sisters-Eva Mae King, Pernie King, Trannie Manasco, Jewel Fields and Betty McDonald.

Pallbearers will be Mark Dabbs, Tommy McDonald, Ron Hill, Wayne Myers, John Manasco and Rhett Barker.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel.  Burial will be at Liberty Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home.  Gary Yeilding will officiate.
