Darlene Jean Schoenemann Grisewood, 69 of Walnut, MS went to be with Jesus and the loved ones she longed to be with in Heaven on Saturday, July 16, 2022.

She was born in Warsaw, NY to Edrie Schoenemann on September 25,1952. She lived in Perry, NY 59 years, working at Champion Products, Archway Cookies Factory, Bells Supermarket and the Bank of Castile.

As a young lady, she loved roller skating at the Silver Lake Roller Rink, listening to music, especially the Jackson 5 and playing Yahtzee with friends.

Darlene married Robin Grisewood January 1, 1982. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting and visiting with her life long friends at the local diner, Rockers. She was a member of Holy Apostles Episcopal Church in Perry, NY. She loved working in the church thrift store because she enjoyed visiting with the community.

On May 25, 2012 they retired to Walnut, MS to live across the road from their daughter Stacey, son in law Teddy and granddaughter, Morgan. She was very involved with the granddaughter from helping with homework, singing songs, attending school functions and celebrating holidays. She was known as “Grammy” to many of the local kids. She took up making cards to send to family and friends, adding personal touches to each one. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Corinth, MS.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Edrie Schoenemann, brothers, Marvin “Skip” Schoenemann and Kurt “Corky” Schoenemann, sister in law, Connie “Boots” Metcalf and brother in law Richard “Bud” Grisewood.

She is survived by her husband, Robin of 40 years of Walnut, MS, daughter Stacey Cornelius (Teddy), granddaughter, Morgan Cornelius, all of Walnut, MS, numerous brothers and sisters in law, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. We also want to acknowledge her friends who meant so much to her.
