Daphne Elane Bledsoe Foster  Daphne Bledsoe Foster, of Potts Camp, MS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2025. She was born in Dallas, Texas on August 16, 1948. In the 1970s, Daphne worked as a switchboard operator and data entry specialist. She also worked for several years at Federal Express and later served as the city clerk for Potts Camp, MS.

Daphne was married to Roger Foster for 42 wonderful years, until his passing in December of 2024. During their time together, they built a loving home and enjoyed many adventures, particularly in their later years when they loved to travel the country and world.

Daphne was an avid reader throughout her life, always eager to delve into a new book. She also found great joy in the simple pleasure of fishing, spending many relaxing hours by the water. Within the family, Daphne was known to be a legendary cook, and her delicious meals will be fondly remembered. She was a part of her community and, as an example, participated in the 1990 census. Daphne will be remembered for her ferocious loyalty, warm heart, and unwavering honesty. A favorite passage from scripture was Psalms 91, particularly verses 1-2: “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'”

Family was incredibly important to Daphne. She is survived by her loving son, Webber “Zan” Dorris II; her step-sons, Jeremy Foster and Dan Foster; her dear brother, Charlie; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her eleven other siblings.

A celebration of Daphne’s life will be held at Lee Memorial Funeral Home 5257 Raymond Ave. Tupelo, MS on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at 2:00 pm. The family would appreciate anyone who attends to please share any stories, memories, or photos they have of Daphne.
