Danny Joe George of Giles County, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Maury Regional Hospital. He was born in Lester, Alabama on October 1, 1952, and was 73 years old.
Danny was retired from Gabriel/Arvin. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was hardworking and rarely missed a day of work. He loved God, his family and his friends and would do anything for any of them to make sure they were taken care of. Danny enjoyed sitting on the porch people wathcing with a good cup of coffee and a cigar. He loved a good nap and fishing but absolutely hated mac and cheese and watermelon. He loved watching Tennessee Titans football and aggravating Becky that Alabama was “gonna lose their game”.
The visitation will be from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be 11:00am on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.
The burial will follow in Shores Memorial Gardens in Goodspring, Tennessee.
Danny was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, Williard Odean and Elvie Louise Williams George along with his in-laws Ernest and Lucile Clemon, one sister-in-law, four brothers-in-law, and one nephew.

His wife, Becky George of Goodspring, Tennessee.
Daughter, Sabrina (Andy) Hill of Goodspring, Tennessee.
Daughter, Amanda George (Chad Eslick) of Goodspring, Tennessee.
Grandchildren, Myles (M’Lee) Hill of Lawrenceburg, TN. Landon, Emma, and Lucas Hill of Goodspring, TN. Special granddaughter, Kimberly (Dylan) West and, children Karsyn and Caroline of Florence, Al.
Brother, Bobby George of Cherry Grove, Alabama.
Also, special “chosen” children who spent time in their home that knew him as Dan-Dan.
Several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.
