Dallas Crowell Sr. – Obituary

Dallas Crowell Sr. of Decatur, passed away Jan. 22, 2017, at the age of 89. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the chapel with Reverend Dallas Culver officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Reba Mae Crowell and second wife, Jane Karrah Crowell; parents, Oscar Earl Crowell Sr. and Cordelia Gilley Crowell; and sister, Dorothy E. “Dottie” Montgomery.

He is survived by his sons, Dallas (Ted) Crowell Jr. (Deborah) and Steve E. Crowell (Cindy); grandchildren, Jacob, John and Sarah Crowell; and brother, Ellis Crowell.

Mr. Crowell served his country in the Air Force. He retired from the Department of Defense at Redstone Arsenal where he worked with the Hawk Missile and Radar System. He was a member of Austinville United Methodist Church. He was a loving father and husband who spent his life helping all. True to his beliefs of right and wrong while living faithfully in his path with God. He was a charter member of the Whitehaven Masonic Temple and a 50-year Mason.

Friends and family will be pallbearers.
