Mr. Dale Roger Venable, 67, passed away, out in the field, doing what he loved, in the afternoon, of Sunday, November 20, 2022.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Inglish Cemetery followed by a reception at Stevenson Park Building at 203 City Park Road Stevenson, AL. Friends and family are welcome. Please send flowers to Scottsboro Funeral Home.

Dale is survived by his mother Erma; brother, Robby; two sons, James and Bobby; and three grandchildren, Drake, Ashton, and Paisley.

Dale spent years of his life employed at Mud Creek Marina, where he made lifelong friends and memories. A Jackson County deer hunting legend, he loved hunting almost as much as he loved his family. He spent much of his life in the woods and knew Mud Creek and the surrounding areas better than anyone. Many know him for still holding the Jackson County record for largest typical whitetail deer, since 1981.

Dale was predeceased by his father, Roy; sisters, Rosa and Carol; and brother, Randy.

Arrangements Entrusted to Scottsboro Funeral Home
