Daisy was born on Feb. 22, 1924, on her plantation home in Florence, Alabama. She was the daughter of Richard Arthur and Florence Ethel Fowler Kimbrough. Daisy married John T. Chandler on April 3, 1941. To this union four children were born: John David Chandler (deceased), Harold Wayne Chandler, of Independence, Linda Sue Chandler Close, of Blue Springs, and Donnie Ray Chandler (Marie), of Springfield, Missouri. John and Daisy had 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren. Her main passion in life was being a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, and homemaker and preparing huge family dinners. She was a member of the Saucy Red Hatters and loved going out to eat with the ladies. She worked for the Ruskin Heights school district and later in life did demos for HyVee and Price Chopper. Daisy was a born again Christian and was of the Baptist faith. She loved the Lord, and her children can remember her getting on her knees every morning before school and praying for their safety. Daisy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 71 years; her oldest son, John David; her four brothers and three sisters, Richard Timothy, Blanche Marie, Jessee Mauten, Lena Inez, James Monroe, Richard Arthur Junior, and Willie Pearline; and great-granddaughter, Jessica Elizabeth Chandler.
