Daisy Eileen Smith Roper, 99, of Greensboro Georgia formerly of Arab and Cullman, Alabama, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at Savannah Court of Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia. Born in Cullman, Alabama on September 22, 1917 she was one of nine children of the late Russell Jones Smith and Savannah Smith. Eileen worked at the Arab Alabama Blue Bell Garment Factory, helped her husband in several businesses and retired from Roper Furniture in Arab. She lived in Cullman and Marshall Counties in Alabama for 91 years before moving to Greensboro, Georgia. She was a member of Lystra Baptist Church while living in Alabama and was an avid gardener.
She was preceded in death by her husband: John Wilton “Buck” Roper: and all of her siblings, Dilmus Lionel Smith, William Albert Smith, Marvin Campbell Smith, Russell Hiram Claude Smith, Adolphus Darvin Smith, Minnie Odessa Guess, Nodie Magnolia Fowler and Winnie Mae Reynolds. She is survived by a son: Jimmy Franklin Roper and his wife Betty Bobo Roper of Greensboro, Georgia; two grandchildren, Alicia Roper Korich of Norcross, Georgia and Joel Christopher Roper of Plano, Texas; five great grandchildren: Haley, Hayden and Holly Roper of Plano Texas and Jordan and Alexander Korich of Norcross Georgia; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Friday August 18, 2017 prior to the funeral.
