Cynthia Irene Bell Partain
Cynthia, a lifelong resident of New Hope, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home on February 23, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mark Partain; her mother, Dorothy Sue Bell; her father, James H. Bell; and her brothers, Jimmy, Bobby, and Joe Bell.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Sue Partain; her two precious granddaughters, Emery and Elora; her sister, Sylvia Hanks; numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A graduate of New Hope High School, Cynthia retired from the Madison County Courthouse, where she served in the voter registration and license departments. Throughout much adversity in life, Cynthia remained positive, always had a smile on her face, and never met a stranger. Her strength was immeasurable.

We will celebrate Cynthia’s life on Saturday, February 28, at the New Hope Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the service beginning at 1:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Mike Carpenter.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Hope Methodist Church for the playground, or we invite you to simply do something kind for someone else in her memory.
