Curt N. Reinhart, age 69, passed away peacefully at home on his beloved Paint Rock River, on June 22nd, 2020. Son of Ralph and Beverly Reinhart, he was born in Endicott, New York. The family relocated to Huntsville with IBM when Curt was in elementary school. He was a known terror, and Beverly opted to work in the cafeteria to keep her eye on his mischievous ways. Curt returned the favor by dedicating the last year of his life to caring for his mother.
Curt is survived by his son, Nicolas, of Sacramento, his daughter-in-law, Anna (neé Devault), and three grandchildren, Eleanor, Maxwell, and Oliver. He is also survived by his daughter, Natalie, currently of New York. Curt is also survived by his once wife and good friend, Kathryn Reinhart. As “Pop Pop,” Curt gave his children and grandchildren the gift of unconditional love and a wry sense of humor. He was deeply loved by them all.
As a Realtor for nearly four decades, Curt exclusively sold new construction, and worked for most builders in town at some point. There was nothing he enjoyed more than helping first time home buyers make their dream come true.
For Curt, the perfect day would be spent on the Paint Rock River, as he said, “worshipping under the blue dome.” He was an advocate of preserving and respecting wildlife, especially turtles. In some of his subdivisions, he was known as “Turtle Curt,” for his penchant for acting as a crossing guard for wandering families of turtles.
In honor of Curt’s love and respect for keeping the river wild, any donations to Forever Wild would be deeply appreciated.
A private Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
