Corrie Ann Johnston English of Huntsville, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024. Corrie was born in Macon, Georgia on February 19, 1937. Corrie married Hill English in 1959 and relocated to Huntsville where they started their family and lived out their lives. For over 60 years, Corrie was an active member of her Sunday School class at Whitesburg Baptist Church. Corrie was a meticulous homemaker and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Corrie is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Hill English; her parents, Jane and Cyrus Johnston and her sister, Jo Frances Johnston. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Harman (Brimmer Sherman) and Emily Morgan (Wayne); five grandchildren, Hill Harman (Melissa), Sara Harman Vines, Hannah Harman Carter (Rich), Jessica Morgan Coleman (Justin), and Wilson Morgan (Katie); and 9 great grandchildren, Olivia, Tommy and Andy Vines, Charlie and Lola Harman, Margot and Hill Carter, Reese Coleman and Walker Morgan.
Corrie spent the last 10 months as a resident of the Thrive at Jones Farm Assisted Living community. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the Thrive family of caregivers and residents who loved her and became a much loved part of her extended family. Additionally, the family wishes to express their gratitude to the team of caregivers from Amedisys Hospice who provided compassionate care during her last days. A private family graveside ceremony is being planned for the springtime.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Corrieās memory to The American Heart Association.
