Coreen White, 90, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, August 29, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Waterloo, Alabama on July 22, 1928 to the late James and Ester White Austin. On December 25, 1943, she married Turner C. White in Waterloo. Turner died on May 2, 2016 after 72 years of marriage.
Surviving are three daughters, Connie (Allen) Roberts, Joan Brazell, Linda (Eric) Stultz and two sons, Jeff (Cheryl) White and Steve (Mickey) White; 12 grandchildren, 18 great- grandchildren and her brother, Willis (Kelly) Austin, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, two brothers, Benny and J.A. Austin preceded her in death.
Coreen was a loving wife, mother and grandma to her family. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and embroidery. She also liked to garden and canning what she grew. Coreen loved the Lord and being outdoors in all of God’s beauty. She also enjoyed looking at pictures and listening to country music. In the past she would help her daughter with the Harvest Market at Woodlawn Nature Center. She also attended Riverview Adult Daycare Center and Crossroads Community Church.
Services celebrating Coreen’s life will begin at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4th at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin Street with visitation starting at noon. Pastor Tim Fisher from Crossroads Community Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. The family requests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association.
