Cooper R. Tilghman – Obituary

Cooper R. Tilghman, 82, of Huntsville, passed away Monday. Mr. Tilghman was a graduate of Georgia Tech with highest honors. He was Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 71, a member of First Baptist Church, and Program Manager of Rocket Missile Program with Thiokol. Mr. Tilghman enjoyed 61 cruises and other travels, and building and flying remote control airplanes. He was a master gardener.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Tilghman; children, Pam Petroff (Mike) of Watkinsville, GA, Craig Tilghman (Le) of Stamping Ground, KY, and Neal Tilghman (Kim) of Madison; and eleven grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
