Conard G. Atchley, 83, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on June 4, 1941, Conard lived a life defined by dedication—to his family, his work, and his many passions. He served proudly in the United States Army as a Specialist 5 (SP5), and spent 42 years building a respected career in accounting and purchasing at Teledyne, where he retired as a Senior Buyer.
A true outdoorsman and lifelong learner, Conard was a jack of all trades who could fix just about anything. He was a talented handyman, a devoted volunteer coach, and an avid baseball card collector. He loved to travel and especially enjoyed cruises with his beloved wife, Carolyn Russell Atchley. The two shared 64 wonderful years of marriage.
Conard’s legacy continues through his son, Robert “Rusty” Atchley (Kris); his grandchildren, Christopher Atchley (Jess), Allison Boyd (David), Elizabeth Ashby (Chris), and Eddie Webster (Brittney); and his great-grandchildren Kylie, Kolton, Harper, and Avery all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Hewas preceded in death by his parents Conard F. and Minnie Atchley, sisters Katheryn Frank and Jean Hindman, and brother Frank Atchley. He is survived by his wife Carolyn; sisters Bennie Ruth Jacks and Patsy (Miley) Kelly; and many extended family members and friends who cherished his wisdom, warmth, and steady presence.
Conard will be remembered most as a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, and a man whose strength, kindness, and quiet humor touched all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 19th, from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. at Berryhill Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow, officiated by Pastor Bobby Burt. Burial will take place at Faith Memorial Park.
