Clifford (Tom) Satterlee passed away on February 5, 2023 at his daughter’s, Elizabeth Stephens, home in Mentone, Alabama. He was born and raised in New Orleans where he graduated from Holy Cross High School. He was drafted into the Navy at 18 and was a World War II veteran serving as an aviation radioman in the South Pacific. He attended Tulane University upon his return and became a cost estimator for Higgins Shipyard in New Orleans. He later worked as an estimator for Chrysler Aerospace at the Michoud facility. When he retired, he and his wife moved to Diamondhead, Mississippi and lived there for over 40 years. While there, he was a member of the POA, King of Mardi Gras crew of Diamondhead. Tom was an avid golfer and member of the Mississippi Seniors Golf Club well into his 90s. He loved to hunt and fish and was a talented musician and singer. He also built several houses in New Orleans and his home in Diamondhead.
Tom is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Peggy Joyner Satterlee, his parents, Irving Thomas Satterlee and Anna Breitling Satterlee, and his brother, Irving Crawford (Red) Satterlee.
He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth (Liz) Satterlee Stephens, son-in-law, Jerome Stephens, his brother, George Marion Satterlee, his grandchildren, Romey Stephens Atchley (David Atchley) and Justin Stephens (Aga Stephens), and his great grandchildren, August (Sky) Atchley, Sophie Stephens and Ryder Stephens, several nieces and nephews, and his partner, Carlene Daboval.
