cleoCleo Buckner was born in Athens, Alabama on June 30, 1928. She departed this earthly life on Thursday, April 2, 2015.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, April 9, 2015, from 10 a.m. to noon at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Florence, Alabama. The funeral will follow at noon.
Mrs. Buckner was preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years, Ahaz Buckner, daughter, Clarissa Buckner, and son, James Smith.
She leaves to cherish fond memories four sons, Charles(Myra) Smith, Chicago, Illinois, Rayford Smith, Rowlett, Texas, Emmanuel “Knocky” (Rhoda) Buckner, Florence, Alabama, and Joe Buckner, Saint Petersburg, Florida; six daughters, Paulett (Willie) Golston, Detroit, Michigan, Benetia (Jerry) Groce, Russellville, Alabama, Anethia Coffey, Killen, Texas, Marilyn(Anthony) White, Florence, Alabama, Zelda “Deede”Carson, Killeen, Texas, and Dera (Tony)Richardson, Oxonhill, Maryland; one brother, Herman (Thera)Farrar, Cinnanati, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Louise Farrar, Huntsville, Alabama; 40 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a special niece, Cozie Maxwell; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and numerous friends.
Grace Memorial Funeral Home of Sheffield, Alabama is in charge of the arrangements.
