Funeral service for Clement Walaford Sawyer, 77, of Moulton, will be Monday, May 13, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Hollis Rutherford officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Smyrna Cemetary. Visitation will be tonight from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m at the funeral home.
Mr. Sawyer died on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at his residence. He was born on June 10, 1935, in Carbon Hill, Alabama, to the late Travis Sawyer and Mattie LouAllen Sawyer. He retired from Fruehauf, and was a member of Symrna church. He loved to hunt, fish, and ride in the valley. Mr. Sawyer is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Sawyer; his parents; three brothers, Travis Sawyer, Jim Sawyer, and Bill Sawyer; two sisters, Yeen Hobbs and Lou Lang; and one grandchild, Nick (Keisha).
Mr. Sawyer is survived by his two sons, David Sawyer and Danny Sawyer; two daughters, Rose Pitt (Danny) and Rezzie Burks (Frederick); one brother, Donald Sawyer; two sisters, Faye Cottingham and Sandra Dewberry; four grandchildren, Scott Pitt (Kim), Brandy Thornton (Dustin), Michelle Burks, and Lynn Terry (Carl); and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Marty Harris, Rod Sawyer, Tim Sawyer, Scotty Bumgart, Tyler Pitt, and Taylor Pitt. Honorary pallbearers will be Ussery Green and Heath Sawyer.
