Charles Thomas Watson of Bessemer passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013. He was born August 9, 1914. Mr. Watson graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in metallurgical engineering. He worked at U.S. Steel in Fairfield until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Reynolds Watson; his parents, Charles John and Leona Gray Watson.
His is survived by his wife, Carolyn Welch Watson; his children, Dr. Charles T. Watson (Pam), Elizabeth W. Edwards (Bingham), Dr. James D. Watson (Karen) and Alan Michael Watson; his stepchildren, Carol S. Whited (Glenn), Earl C. Simpson (Jeannine) and Rosemary S. Wall (Bryan); 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; his sister, Peggy W. Molleson; his extended family and friends. Graveside services will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Bessemer on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Charles Youngson of St. Thomas Episcopal Church officiating.
