Mrs. Koochie QuinlivanClaire “Koochie” Quinlivan, age 90, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith.

Koochie was preceded in death by her beloved husband and the love of her life, Jack, as well as her great-grandson, Evans. Though they are gone from this earth, we take comfort in knowing they are reunited.
She is survived by her three sons, John (Paige), Evans (Robin), and Mark (Andolyn), who were the pride and joy of her life. Koochie was a devoted grandmother to Will Quinlivan (Cameron), Tyler Sojourner (Tim), Hunt Quinlivan (Courtney), Claire Love (Patrick), and Russ Quinlivan, and a cherished great-grandmother to Quinnie, Charlie, Aaron, Jack, Eli, Henry, Ali, Charlotte, and Roman. Each of them carries forward her warmth, wit, and spirit.

Koochie attended the University of Alabama, where she was a proud member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority, forming friendships that lasted a lifetime and helped shape her vibrant, social nature.

Koochie was, at her core, a kind soul with an unmistakable sense of humor. She was always quick with a joke and never missed an opportunity to bring a smile to those around her. Whether among family or friends, she was often the life of the party—her laughter and joy filling any room she entered. While she was not known for her cooking, she always had a generous heart and an open home, gladly setting the table for one more of her boys’ friends who lingered after long days of lake activities. Everyone was welcome, and no one ever left without feeling cared for.

Her faith was central to her life. A devoted member of the Catholic Church, she found comfort and strength in prayer and was faithful in saying the rosary each day. Her example of quiet devotion and steadfast belief was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Koochie will be remembered for her loving heart, her joyful spirit, and the deep bonds she fostered within her family. Her presence will be dearly missed, but her legacy lives on in the countless memories she created and the lives she touched.

Her family takes comfort in knowing she lived a full and beautiful life, grounded in love, faith, and laughter.

Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at St Jude Catholic Church in Scottsboro. Father Tom Woods will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the church beginning at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
