FLORENCE-Residents of Florence who are unable to vote at the polls on Election Day may vote absentee. For more information including polling locations, candidates, and voter registration information visit the City of Florence website.
VOTE ABSENTEE BY MAIL
1. Get an Absentee Ballot Application
You have two options to get your application:
Download it online: print, complete, and sign the application.
Request one by mail: Call the City Clerk’s Office at 256-760-6679 to have an application mailed to your residence.
Deadline to request an application: August 19
2. Submit Your Completed Application
Mail the completed and signed application with a copy of your valid photo ID to:

3. Receive Your Ballot by Mail
Once your application and ID are received and verified, an absentee ballot will be mailed to your home address.
4. Vote and Return Your Ballot
Mark your choices and follow the instructions included with your ballot.
Return your completed ballot by mail or in person to the City Clerk’s Office.
6. Final Deadline to Be Counted
Deadline to return ballots in person: August 25 (CLOSE OF BUSINESS)
All mailed absentee ballots must be received at the Clerk’s Office by NOON on Election Day – August 26
Only one application per envelope is allowed.
VOTE ABSENTEE IN-PERSON
You may also choose to vote absentee in person. Please have 20 minutes available to do in-person voting.
