Christopher Shawn Haraway, age 50 of Belvidere passed away on Wednesday April 7, 2021 at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville, Alabama. He was born in Florence, Alabama on July 3, 1970 to James E. Haraway and Virginia Dare Howell Towry. He was self-employed as a farmer of a Sod and Cattle Farm, and also tended to a big garden to help feed the families in HaveiHope, Inc. On top of tending the garden, Shawn was also a Board Member of HaveiHope, Inc. for over 3 years and loved volunteering and helping children. When he was not working or helping others he could be found going fishing, hunting, playing golf, team roping, or watching Alabama football. Shawn was known to have never met a stranger and loved his friends and family. He will always be remembered for having a heart of gold and touching the lives of many people. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lowell and Lucy Haraway; and maternal grandparents, Luster and Nela Howell. He is survived by his loving wife of 7 years, Kim Haraway of Belvidere; daughters, Kailee Rigsby and Carley Rigsby both of Belvidere. Mother, Virginia Dare (Ted) Towry of Madison, AL; father, James (Gina) Haraway of Chandler, AZ; siblings, Steve (Donna) Haraway of Madison, AL, Stacy (Kris) Haraway of Madison, AL, Chip Towry, of Harvest, AL; nieces and nephews, Dustin, Dylan, Ryan, Chelsea, Kaitlin, and Taylor. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Hastings and Bryan Cordell officiating. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens with Jimmy Nay, Phil Campbell, James Cooper, Dustin Haraway, Dylan Haraway, and Ryan Haraway serving as pallbearers, and Steven Woolwine, Roger Taylor, Stephen Hagood, Scott Graham, Jason Jones, Jimmy Cole, Derek Worley, David Putnam, Bobby Steadman, Salvador Ruiz, and Jeff Harrell as honorary pallbearers.
