Christopher Shane Millwood, or “Millhouse” as he was affectionately known to many of his friends, was freed from the prison of his broken, earthly body on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, at home. Chris was a member of the church of Christ, and his loved ones rejoice in his victory.
Missing and loving him are his wife, Windy Jacobs Millwood; his pride and joy, sons, Earth and Bruce Millwood; his beloved four-legged children, Wrigley and Felisha Millwood; his Poppason and Mommason, Jeff and Sharon Jacobs; and numerous friends he made over the years.
Chris was one-of-a-kind, and no one who ever met him ever thought of him without a smile coming to his face. He was the best dad in the world, Mr. Mom, soccer coach, prankster, karaoke master, helpmate, loving family man, and considerate, funny, kind, best friend. Simply, he is irreplaceable. His special gift was the way he made other people feel. Even as his health deteriorated he fought on with a good attitude, a smile on his face, and love in his heart. For Chris, becoming a father was his proudest moment, and he made sure everyone knew the antics and accomplishments of two black-headed little daddy’s boys. Nothing will ever fill the void in our hearts.
Chris attended East Lawrence High School, where he was a member of the band, the class clown, and friend to everyone who ever attended. He deejayed for many years at Geno’s Pub, where his legendary vocals and dance moves live on forever. He worked at Decatur Walmart several years, where his life changed forever when he met his wife in sporting goods.
Chris was born Feb. 28, 1973, to Wilburn and Wilma Sue Millwood, both of whom preceded him in death. One brother, Averie Dean Millwood, is also deceased.
He is survived by his uncle, Gilbert Millwood.
Visitation will be today from 5-7 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home. The funeral is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at 4 p.m. in the chapel at Parkway. A celebration of Millhouse is scheduled for Saturday night starting at 8 p.m. at Geno’s Pub.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Jacobs, River Jacobs, James Askenburg, Reggie Randolf, Justin Jeffreys and Tim Williams. A special thank you to the wonderful people at Alacare Hospice.
Until we’re together again, precious. We love you, Daddy.
