Christopher Matthew Plantz, age 37 of Sewanee, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, August 7, 2026. He was born in Orlando, Florida on October 23, 1988. Musically inclined, in his younger years he played the saxophone and always enjoyed listening to music. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, and cheering for Florida State Athletics. Christopher had an extremely big heart when given the chance to show it and would have given his last dollar to anyone in need. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Doug Haskell; grandfather, Gordon Muffat; brother, Alex Plantz; and four-legged best friend, Ozzy. He is survived by his mother, Deanna (Wayne) Caldwell; father, Christopher M. Plantz; brother, Andrew Haskell; grandparents, Cheryl Muffat, and Brenda and George Plantz; and aunt, Ann Mahler.
