Christmas In Athens and Limestone County

ATHENS-After a community vote, the 2023 Limestone County Christmas Theme is “Bright Lights & Christmas Delights” Several of these events help our small business community continue to thrive!

Here are just a few of the fun Holiday Events happening in Athens and Limestone County.

• Window Decoration Voting is from November 17 through December 17. Several downtown Athens merchants plan to decorate their windows using the theme. There will be QR codes in the windows for patrons to scan and vote for their favorite. The winner will receive special recognition from Main Street and the Chamber.
• Athens-Limestone County Christmas Open House presented by Dream Key Real Estate will be held November 17-19, 2023, in downtown Athens. It is hosted by the Athens-Limestone Chamber and Athens Main Street. All the details can be found here: https://athensmainstreet.org/christmas-open-house/
• The 9^th Annual North Pole Stroll is throughout the entire month of December. Trees will be decorated in Athens Big Spring Memorial Park. The lead for this is the Athens-Limestone County Tourism Association. Those interested in purchasing a tree can contact them at 256-232-5411.
• The Ardmore Tinsel Trail, presented by Daly and Son Car Care, is back this year. Businesses and individuals who are interested in a tree can purchase them online here: https://greaterardmorechamber.com/tinsel-trail/. The annual tree lighting ceremony will take place on December 1, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. The trail is located around the Ardmore Town Hall.
• Additionally in Ardmore, Cookies and Pictures with Santa will take place at the Ardmore Town Hall on December 2, 2023, from 10 a.m. to Noon. The Ardmore Christmas Parade is December 4, 2023, at 6 p.m. Parade info and registration can be found at Town Hall or online at http://www.townofardmorealabama.com/events/christmas-parade/. • The annual Athens-Limestone County Christmas Parade is December 7, 2023, at 6 p.m. presented by Bryant Bank. • The 12^th Annual Sippin’ Cider event in downtown Athens hosted by Athens Main Street is December 9, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. This event is presented by Dream Key Real Estate. There was already a detailed release sent out about this. If you need a copy of it, please let me know.
• The Town of Elkmont is also getting in on the Christmas spirit. On December 9, 2023, it will be a packed day full of fun in Elkmont. At 3 p.m., the Christmas Parade will take place, 4 p.m. Santa will visit Town Hall, and their tinsel trail lighting is at 5 p.m. Contact Town Hall for more information: (256) 732-4211
