Memorial service for Chester Lavon Helms, 49, will be Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 2:00 PM at New Salem Baptist Church in Florette, AL, with Bro. Tim Helms officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in New Salem Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Church.
Mr. Helms died on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born November 9, 1964, in Morgan County to Chester Franklin Helms and Doris Marie Briscoe Helms. He was an Avid Alabama Fan . He was formerly a truck driver for Anders Logging Company. Mr. Helms was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother: Anthony “Tony” Ray Helms.
