Cheri Eileen Swann, age 72 of Decherd, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 22, 1953, in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Robert Irwin and Jacqueline Genee (Park) Jones. Before her retirement in 1999, Cheri drove a school bus for the Elkhart (Indiana) School System. She loved being on the road going places whether it was driving a bus, riding a motorcycle, or traveling in the family RV. Adventurous, she had been to all fifty states, particularly enjoying fishing in Minnesota with family and riding roller coasters (the bigger the better). Cheri enjoyed being the family photographer as well as working in her garden and flower beds. A real character, she loved to see others smile and was affectionately known as mom by everyone. She loved the Lord and was a dedicated member of White Oak Grove Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Troy Swann; and brothers, Rocky Jones and Cliff Jones. Cheri is survived by her loving and devoted husband of fifty-five years, Leonard Swann; children, Tonya Swann, and Ryan (Jami) Swann; grandchildren, Daniel Swann, Christopher Swann, Zachary Swann, Aleah Swann, Alexis Swann, Brianna Swann, and Klohe Swann; great-granddaughter, Ava Swann; sister, Carol Bly; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro.
