Chella Lynn Edwards passed away in her sleep on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at her home in Decatur, AL. She is survived by two daughters, Jodie Alicia Edwards, age 18 and Bailey Lynn Edwards, age 4 of Decatur; her mother, Vickie (Waddell) Edwards-Peto of Yorba Linda, CA; her sister, Shasta Michelle Lanford of Atlanta, GA; her brother, Brant Kristopher Paul Peto of Costa Mesa, CA; her father, Tommy Edwards of Hanceville, AL; and two nieces and one nephew. The funeral will be Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle.
Chella was born in Decatur, AL in 1974 but moved to California in 1983, then lived in the UK from 1986 to 1997 before returning to Decatur. She graduated high school from the American Community School in London, received a Maria Montessori teaching diploma in 1995, and then achieved her Bachelor’s degree from Athens State University in Athens, AL.
Chella had a keen interest in history and the history channel was where she was found in her spare time. She was especially interested in WW I and WW II and had many videos on those two subjects. She immensely enjoyed travel but had been unable to travel of recent years due to health issues. She used her talents as an amateur photographer whenever she had the opportunity.
Visitation will be at Peck’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 12 from 11:00 – 1:00 prior to the service which will be officiated by Robbie Stofel. Pallbearers will be Brant Peto of Costa Mesa, CA; Larry Wayne Fincher of Decatur, AL; Jerry Waddell, Steven Waddell, Larry Waddell, and Cody Waddell of Somerville, AL.
