Funeral service for Charlynn Bennett Rivers, 74, will be Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Somerville Church of God with Bro. Jason Moore, Bro. Pearl Jenkins and Bro. Jerry Bingham officiating with Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Somerville Church of God Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, September 12, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rivers died on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at her residence. She was born October 16, 1939, in Winston County to Woodrow Wilson Bennett and Edna Earl (Hester) Bennett. Mrs. Rivers was preceded in death by her Parents and a daughter, Melanie Rivers McGee. The Family of Mrs. Rivers would like to thank the nursing staff at Decatur Morgan Hospital, Alacare Hospice and the Cancer Care Center of Decatur.
In Lieu of flowers, the family has asked to please make donations to Samaritins Purse, Operation Christmas Child Project.
