Charlotte Jeanette Oliver – Obituary

Charlotte Jeanette Oliver, 75, of Muscle Shoals, AL, died Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Shoals Hospital. Her visitation will be Monday, November 16, 6:00- 8:00pm at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. She will lie in state Tuesday, November 17, from 12:00-1:00 pm at Woodward Avenue Baptist Church. Her funeral service will follow at 1:00pm with Dr. Tom Whatley and Bill Newman officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

Since birth, Mrs. Oliver lived in Hatton, AL and moved to Muscle Shoals, AL June 15, 1966 with her family. She was a graduate of Hatton High School Class of 1958 and Florence State Teachers College.

Charlotte was a member of Woodward Avenue Baptist Church and a Sunday School teacher of the 2-4 years old class for several years. She was also a member of the Blind Sight Seekers Club with the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind. She was an avid fan of Alabama Crimson Tide, She loved her gardening, flowers, fishing, and being a wife and loving mother. Her favorite Bible verses were Psalms 23, Psalms 100, John 3:16, and Romans 8:28.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years Clois Leon Oliver; parents, James Monroe and Essie Mae Greene Anderton; brother, Hershel Anderton; sisters, Christine Lovett and Lottie Posey; special pet, Angel.

She is survived by her son, Clois Lamar Oliver; daughter, Kerry Lanett Oliver; sister, Jean Dilbeck and special Christian friend, Leroy.

Pallbearers are Ron Briley, Jim Lovett, Carlton Dilbeck, Danny Zills, Tony Zills, and Rickey Zills.

The family expresses a special thanks to the staff of Muscle Shoals Davita Dialysis, all of her doctors and nurses, and to WBTG 106.3 Gospel Radio.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind School in Talladega, AL, Woodward Avenue Baptist Church general and building fund, Alabama Kidney Foundation and/or any charity of choice.
