UPDATE FROM DECATUR POLICE:

SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On 11/14/15 at 9:43am, Decatur Police responded to a shooting at The Corner Bakery, located at the intersection of 8th St and Somerville Rd.
The victim, 62 year old Kay Letson Stevens was transported to Decatur Morgan Hospital for treatment of multiple gunshot wounds. She later died as a result of her injuries.
During the investigation, it was determined that Kay Stevens and Roger Dale Stevens have recently gotten a divorce. This morning, Kay arrived at the bakery where she works. Roger Stevens was waiting for her to arrive and he approached her with a pistol.
Roger Stevens then shot his ex wife multiple times. Roger then fled the scene before police arrived.
Decatur Police placed a BOLO for information about Stevens’ whereabouts. He was finally located in a gravel parking lot north of the Target Distribution Center on Greenbriar Rd in Limestone Co. Units from multiple agencies arrived at the scene, where Stevens had locked himself inside a tractor trailer.
After about a 2 hour standoff, Stevens was peacefully taken into custody. No one was injured.
Stevens was taken to the Decatur City Jail on the charge of Murder. His bond was set by Morgan Co Circuit Judge Jennifer Howell at $250,000.00. He was transferred to the Morgan Co Jail.

HUNTSVILLE-A standoff near the Target Distribution Center at  I-565 and Greenbrier Road that began around 2PM Saturday, November 14 has been resolved.

Units from Huntsville and Decatur Police, Limestone and Morgan County Sheriff’s Departments surrounded a semi-truck parked near the distribution center where Roger Stevens, who is wanted in the shooting of his wife, Kay Stevens was arrested after a 2 hour standoff.

Rogers, 63 was wanted in the shooting death of his wife Kay Stevens, 62 at her place of work  Corner Bakery and Eatery.  Kay Rogers was transported to Decatur Morgan Hospital for treatment of multiple gunshot wounds where she  died at 11:37 AM at Huntsville Hospital.

The Decatur Police Department confirms that law enforcement resolved the standoff at around 4:30 PM on Saturday.  Roger Stevens was arrested.
