Charlotte passed away after a hard fought battle with pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome. She is survived by her niece, Nicole Easterwood Thomas and her husband, Nathan Thomas; great-nephews, Roman Thomas and Jackson Thomas; brother-in-law, Danny Easterwood; cousins, Shirley Helms (Danny), Carol Winstead Lee (Mike), and Esther Meharg; honorary niece, Jordan Seijo; and good friend, Cindy Cooper Haynes McCarley. Charlotte was preceeded in death by her father, Weems H. Owen, her mother, Ina Maie Owen Russell, brother, Jerry Weems Owen, and sister, Glenda Gayle Owen Easterwood.

Charlotte was born in Anniston on September 4, 1947 to Ina Owen Russell and Weems H. Owen. She spent her early childhood years living with her grandmother in High Point, North Carolina, but moved back to Calhoun County later in childhood. Charlotte may not have had any children of her own, but she loved so many babies and children she kept over the years, including her niece, Nicole, who she saw as more of a daughter. She worked at Kaysport, a family fun center in Anniston, Alabama, for many years and enjoyed getting to work with kids. Charlotte loved going to Disney World with her niece and their friends and enjoyed anything Disney. She was a lifelong Baptist and was a member of the homemaker’s class at West Anniston Baptist Church until she was unable to attend anymore. She loved her family, especially her great-nephews Roman and Jackson, and the lord with all her heart and was the best sister and Aunt Charlotte. She will be immensely missed.
